Welcome to Score Automator

Build a custom marking rubric once, then generate consistent, criterion-level feedback for every student in seconds. Start by clicking Build a New Scorer below — the wizard takes around 10–20 minutes for a new assessment.

🔒

Your Scorers are saved in your browser's local storage — private to this device and browser. Use Export JSON inside the builder to back up your work or share a Scorer with a colleague. Note: JSON exports contain the Scorer configuration only — your personal feedback snippets stay private to your browser.

Build Custom Assessment
Feedback Tools — Instantly

Define your rubric, set your criteria, and score students with auto-generated, personalised feedback. Your own à la carte Feedback Kitchen — any course, any criteria, every student.

Adapted from research and used by educators at:

University of Strathclyde University of Waikato

Everything You Need

Built for educators who want speed, consistency, and quality feedback.¹

📋

Custom Rubrics

Define your own criteria and weight them however you like. Add rubric descriptors for all four tiers — Excellent, Proficient, Developing, and Unsatisfactory.

⚖️

Weighted Scoring

Set percentage weights per criterion. The tool automatically calculates weighted scores, applies late penalties, and suggests an overall grade.

💬

Auto-Generated Feedback

Each student gets a fully assembled feedback block — intro, per-criterion commentary, score, late penalty notice, and a grade-tailored closing paragraph.

📤

One-Click Export

Copy feedback to your clipboard, download a formatted Excel workbook with results, rubric, and feedback templates, or print directly to PDF.

✏️

Fully Customisable

Edit every intro and outro paragraph per grade level. Override any score manually. Add personalised comments alongside the auto-generated text.

💾

Multiple Scorers

Build a separate scorer for each course or assessment. Save and switch between them. Export your config as JSON to share with colleagues.

How It Works

From rubric to ready-to-paste feedback in three steps.

1

Build Your Scorer

Use the guided wizard to set up your assessment details, define your criteria and weightings, write rubric descriptors for each tier, and customise the grade feedback text. Takes about 10–20 minutes for a new assessment.

2

Grade a Student

Enter the student's details, select a grade for each criterion from the dropdown, optionally override any score, choose a late penalty if applicable, and watch the overall score and feedback assemble in real time.

3

Export & Move On

Copy the feedback to your clipboard and paste it into Moodle, Turnitin, or your institution's grading system. Download an Excel record of the grading, or print to PDF. Hit "New Student" and repeat.
